Atmosphere is a unique new way to enjoy stories. Our software analyzes the text of any story for mood, then jumps on the internet and finds music that matches that mood, creating a soundtrack-like experience as you read. There’s also VINCENT, a fun tool which allows users to create their own playlists of music to share with other readers. Our patented technology always plays back the music exactly where intended, no matter how fast or slow you read. Whether you let our software pick the mood music for you, or you choose to listen to a custom playlist created in VINCENT, the experience is uniquely engaging. Having professionally scored music is absolutely critical to the Atmosphere listening experience. Without it, the music is a distraction. I mean, who wants some annoying background music playing while you’re trying to read? The musical score is as important as the visual images in a film. Some say the sound is 50% of a great film. Try watching Star Wars with the sound turned off, and you’ll see what I mean. Talented composers write music that follows the emotional flow of a scene. When the visual and the audio work in harmony, it’s a powerful experience. This is my goal for Atmosphere, to create the same intense emotional connection by pairing the words on the page with music that matches the emotion of the scene you’re reading. We’ve been very fortunate to have a wonderful testing partner to provide the music for Atmosphere. Our partner has gathered top Hollywood film composers to provide our mood based listening. This is not crap music, but professionally written, high quality musical score. It’s cool!
